Latvian feature film “A postcard from Rome” screenings in Canada
The Latvian film “A postcard from Rome” (Pastkarte no Romas) will be screened in Toronto, Vancouver and Ottawa as part of the European Union Film Festival in Canada.
Director Elza Gauja tells the story of Ernests and Alvīne, married postal workers, who face the struggles of life with the progressing Alzheimer disease. Masterfully played by lead actors Indra Burkovska and Jānis Jarāns, the film a moving acknowledgement of the presence of the disease in a nowadays world.
The screening of “A postcard from Rome” will take place in Toronto on 24 November (Spadina Theatre), Vancouver on 25 November (The Cinematheque), and Ottawa on 28 November (Ottawa Art Gallery). The online screenings across Canada will be open from 1 to 15 December. Information on the film.
