Baltic and Nordic short film screenings in Halifax

On 6 February in Halifax, Nova Scotia, BRIGHT NIGHT: Baltic-Nordic Short films event will take place at the Dalhousie University.

The program includes 8 unique films (animation, documentary and feature) offering to witness the cinematographic talents from the Baltic and Nordic countries - Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.  Latvia’s film "Sacrificial Lamb" (Upurjērs – in Latvian) is a feature short film directed by Uģis Olte at the film studio VFS Films.

This free-admission event, initiated by the Embassy of Latvia  with the support of the Honorary Consul of Latvia in Nova Scotia Dr. Ingrida Sketris, is organized by the Jean Monnet European Union Centre of Excellence in close collaboration with the Embassies of the Baltic and Nordic countries in Canada.

The short film program was first shown in Ottawa in October 2024.
