On 3 May, in Ottawa, the Latvian animation "Pauline's Story"  (Paulīnes stāsts) will be screened as part of the European Union Short Film Festival program.

The film is a testament to a tragic page in Latvia's history  - the deportations to Siberia in 1949. Told by animator and producer Velta Emīlija Platupe, the film is based on the life story of her great-grandmother.

The EU Short film festival takes place in Canada's capital city Ottawa every spring. Organized by the EU Delegation in Canada and the Canadian Film Institute, in collaboration with the EU memberstate Embassies in Ottawa, the 2-day film program is available admission free.  Later in May,  the films will be screened in Montreal.
