Great interest for Latvia at the European Union Cultural Fair

On 15 June, the Embassy of Latvia participated in the annual European Union Cultural Fair  that took place outside the Canadian Museum of History, Gatineau, Quebec.

Thoughout the day, the visitors were invited to visit Latvia's booth to learn of the Latvian rich culture and traditions. A quiz on Latvia received a great interest, covering Latvia's history, sports, nature, and language. The visitors were offered information on tourism  -  Latvia as a safe, inviting and exciting travel destination in Europe. Visitors appreciated an opportunity to enjoy the taste of Latvia  -  the legendary Riga Black Balsam, with black currant taste and sweets from chocolatier Laima. 

The Latvian folk dance group "Otavas Rotaļa" performed traditional dances, also a joined  performance with the Ottawa Ukrainian dance group "Svitanok".  The public was invited to join the dancers to learn some basic steps.

The European Union Cultural Fair is organized by the European Union Delegation in Canada in close collaboration with the Embassies of the EU memberstates in Ottawa.  As usual,  also this year the event draw thousands of visitors.
