Film "Kafka. In love" represents Latvia at the European Union Short film festival in Canada
The annual European Union Short Film festival in Canada has opened in Ottawa with a contemporary and compelling film program.
Latvia is represented with film “Kafka. In love” (Kafka. Iemīlējies). This beautiful short is an animation created in a sand technique by director Zane Oborenko. This method has power to transform an ordinary earthly material as sand into a profound artistic tool to masterfully express the beauty and complexity of human emotions.
“Inspired by Franz Kafka’s Letters to Milena Jesenská, KAFKA. IN LOVE explores the multidimensional experience of falling in love" - film studio Atom Art.
The festival program will be available also in Montreal, Winnipeg and Quebec City in May-June 2026. All films have French subtitles and admission is free. Due to limited seating, the early registration is suggested.
The Festival is presented by the European Union Delegation in Canada and EU Member states Embassies in partnership with the Canadian partners – the Canadian Film Institute and Vision méditerranéenne.
