A great interest for Latvia at the EU Cultural Fair

On 13 June, the Embassy of Latvia participated in the annual European Union Cultural Fair  outside the Canadian Museum of History, Gatineau, Quebec.

Throughout the day, the visitors were invited to visit Latvia's booth to learn of the Latvian traditions and culture.  The visitors were interested to take a quiz on Latvia's nature, sport, architecture, history,  and language.  There was an opportunity also to taste some of the Latvian staples - the legendary Riga Black Balsam, with black currant taste and sweets from chocolatier "Laima" and "Skrīveru saldumi". The visitors were offered information on tourism  -  Latvia as a safe, inviting and exciting travel destination in Europe.

The Latvian fok dance group  "Otavas Rotaļa" performed traditional dances. The visitors also had a chance to listen to the play of "kokle" - the traditional music instrument.

The European Union Cultural Fair is organized by the European Union Delegation in Canada in close collaboration with the Embassies of the EU memberstates in Ottawa.  As usual,  also this year the event draw thousands of visitors.
