H.E. Edgars Rinkēvičs, President of the Republic of Latvia, visits XVI Latvian Song and Dance Festival in Canada
H.E. Edgars Rinkēvičs, President of the Republic of Latvia, visited Toronto from 6 to 7 July 2024 and attended the XVI Latvian Song and Dance Festival in Canada. President attended the Mass Choir Concert on July 6 and the Folk Dance Spectacle on July 7, as well as the Ecumenical Church service at St. John’s Church in Toronto.
During his visit President met the organizers and participants of the Song and Dance Festival as well as representatives of the Latvian diaspora in Canada. During a reception held in honour of the organizers of the Festival, he met the Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of International Development of Canada, Francesco Sorbara, Member of Parliament and Co-Chair of Canada-Latvia Parliamentary Friendship Group, and Yvan Baker, Member of Parliament and Member of Canada-Latvia Parliamentary Friendship Group.
