The Validity of U.S. Drivers Licenses in Latvia

Drivers licenses issued in the United States are valid for driving in Latvia, if the driver has resided in Latvia for one year or less. An international driver's license is not required. In other words, tourists and other short-term visitors to Latvia can drive using their U.S. license.

If you are planing to remain in Latvia for more than one year, you will need to obtain a driver's license from Latvia.
