Vestnieciba ar bralu Petrausku koncertu svin svetku egles iedegsanu
On December 7 a tree-lighting ceremony and concert featuring the Brothers Petrauski from Latvia was held at the Embassy of Latvia.

Exhibit Evalds Dajevskis: "Place, Art and Identity" open through November 18
The retrospective exhibit Evalds Dajevskis: “Place, Art and Identity” developed by his son Peter Dajevskis, is part of a "farewell tour" before it becomes a part of the permanent collection of the Liepaja City Museum in Latvia. The exhibit will be open through Nov. 18. Not to be missed!

Embassy of Latvia to open its doors - EU Open House - May 12
On Saturday, May 12 visitors will be able to tour the Embassy's historic building, enjoy traditional folk dance performances and view a Contemporary Art Exhibit.

European Youth Orchestra to Tour the U.S.
The EU Youth Orchestra, with 3 musicians from Latvia, will be touring the U.S. in April 2012. They will perform in: Chapel Hill, NC - April 13; Kennedy Center, Washington, D.C. - April 15; Carnegie Hall, New York - April 18; Boston - April 20; Bloomington, IN - April 22; Evanston, IL - April 24. The AFI Silver Theater in Silver Spring will showcase the Latvian film as part of the 2011 EU Film Showcase. Showtimes: Sat., Nov. 5 at 4:00 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 7 at 4:15 p.m.

Animated film "Acorn Boy" from Latvia as part of Kids Eurofestival
The "Acorn Boy" (Zīļuks) will be shown as part of the Kids Eurofestival on October 16 and 23 at the French Embassy in Washington, DC

Puppet show "Who will protect the bunny?" part of Eurokids Festival
The puppet show "Who Will Protect the Bunny" (Kas zaķīti pasargās?) will be performed at the Kids Eurofestival on Saturday, October 29 at 3:15 p.m. at the French Embassy in Washington, DC

Exhibition - Latvian Art in Exile: 1944-1950
This unique collection of paintings by refugee artists is on exhibit at the Embassy of Latvia through April 2, 2011. The exhibit is open: Saturdays, Mondays, Wednesdays HOURS: 11:00-5:00

Photo exhibit "Cultural Perceptions" to open October 7 at Embassy of Latvia
A collaborative project of the Latvian Culture College and University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire will be open from October 7 through November 6.

Latvijas vestnieciba atklaj studentu izstadi "Cultural Perceptions"
7.oktobrī vēstnieks A. Pildegovičs atklāja Latvijas Kultūras koledžas un Viskonsīnas universitātes Oklērā (Eau Claire) studentu fotoizstādi "Cultural Perceptions". Izstādi iespējams aplūkot līdz 6. novembrim.

Animation movie to be shown at Kids Eurofestival
The Latvian children's film "Bear is coming" (Lacis nak) will be shown at the Kids Eurofestival in Washington, DC on October 16.

Explorer/Mekletajs: Photo Installation by Sniedze Rungis at Embassy of Latvia
"Photographic Installation by Sniedze Rungis" will be open daily from September 25 through October 2 at the Embassy of Latvia (2304 Massachusetts Ave., NW). On the final day, Saturday, October 2, the exhibit will be open until 8:00 pm. The project has been supported by the Latvian Foundation Inc.

Riga Dom Boys' Choir performs at Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage
