Animated film "Acorn Boy" from Latvia as part of Kids Eurofestival

The "Acorn Boy" (Zīļuks) will be shown as part of the Kids Eurofestival on Sunday, October 16 and Sunday, October 23, 2011 at La Maison Francaise (French Embassy), 4101 Reservoir Road NW, Washington DC 20007.

Immerse yourself in the clever and charming world of Latvian animation with seven short films by award-winning director Dace Riduze. Acorn Boy -- based on a story by Margarite Staraste -- tells the story of clumsy little Acorn Boy and his friends in the village of Stalks. A favorite at animation festivals worldwide, Acorn Boy won First Prize in the Films for Children and Youth category at Croatia's 2011 Soopertoon International Animation Festival.

The 2011 animation movie (70 minutes) is recommended for all ages. Admission: free

A popular Latvian puppet show will also be part of the Eurokids Festival.
