Reception in honor of the accreditation of Ambassador Elita Kuzma
On September 18, 2024, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the United States, Elita Kuzma, held a reception for Latvians in America, friends of Latvia and organizations representing Latvia's interests in America at the Embassy of Latvia to the United States, marking the Ambassador's accreditation and the beginning of her tenure in the United States.
Ambassador Elita Kuzma thanked the Latvians in America, emphasizing their role in the preservation of the Latvian language and culture, as well as in the implementation of bilateral relations and common interests between Latvia and the United States. The Ambassador thanked the American Latvian Association The World Federation of Free Latvians (PBLA), the Latvian Museum in Rockville, the Latvian Association of Washington State, the American Latvian Youth Association and every Latvian in America who honored and developed their Latvian roots. The special guest of the reception was Ints Siliņš, the first US Ambassador to Latvia after the restoration of Latvia's independence.
The Ambassador emphasized that one of the priorities of her tenure is to show the deep European cultural traditions and talents of Latvia in America, inviting every Latvian in America to actively participate in diaspora events organized by the embassy.
