The Embassy of Latvia to the USA organized a high-level defense drone technology symposium

On October 16, 2024, the Embassy of Latvia to the USA in cooperation with the Latvian American Chamber of Commerce and the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia and SIA “Latvijas Mobilais Telefons” organized a Symposium on defense drone technologies. The event was organized during AUSA (Association of the United States Army) 2024 and brought together business leaders and officials from Latvia, the United States of America and other allied countries to discuss the development of drone technology and promote international cooperation in the field of defense.

The Symposium was opened by Ambassador of Latvia to the USA Elita Kuzma, State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Latvia Aivars Puriņš and Co-President of the Latvian American Chamber of Commerce Jānis Bergs.

In the main discussion sessions, the participants of the Symposium discussed investment advantages and opportunities in Latvia, the political perspective and the drone initiative in Ukraine, as well as Latvia's expertise in drone technology innovation research. In addition, in a special morning session, Latvian entrepreneurs were given insights and guidelines for cooperation with the US Department of Defense.
