The service is available to persons indicated permanent residency in Norway or Iceland.
Please note that documents issued by the Embassy are only valid in Norway and Iceland and cannot be certified by Apostille.
Certificate from the Latvian Register of Natural Persons (regarding family status, passport data, address, etc.)
In order to apply for the certificate, the following must be sent to the Embassy by mail (Embassy of Latvia, PO BOX 4027 AMB, 0244 Oslo, Norway):
1. A copy of the passport or eID card (the copy of the document must bear the words “I, given name, surname, agree that my data will be used in the process of requesting a certificate from the Register of Natural Persons” and must be signed);
2. An application form.
Inquiries regarding information from the Register of Natural Persons may also be requested by an e-service via www.latvija.lv. You can request an e-service here.
This service is subject to a public charge in amount of EUR 5, a consular fee of EUR 40 and a consular fee of EUR 15 (Norway), EUR 25 (Iceland) if you wish to receive the document/-s by mail. The invoice will be sent to an e-mail address to the person, who is requesting the service.
Remote services shall be provided from the moment when all the necessary documents and receipt of the State and Consular fees are received at the Embassy.

Certificate regarding impunity of a person from the Punishment Register
In order to apply for the certificate of impunity, the following must be sent to the embassy by post (Embassy of Latvia, PO BOX 4027 AMB, 0244 Oslo, Norway):
1. A copy of the passport or eID card (the copy of the document must bear the words: “I, given name, surname, agree that my data will be used in the process of requesting the certificate on (non) criminal convictions” and must be signed);
2. Application form. While requesting document via Embassy, it will be issued within five working days from the Registry and additional five days at the Embassy. The mail delivery will take additional time.
Certificates from the Punishment Registry may be requested by using the e-service of the Information Centre of the Ministry of the Interior: https://e.ic.iem.gov.lv
The service is subject to a State fee in amount of EUR 10,40, a consular fee of EUR 40 and a consular fee for mail delivery of EUR 15 in Norway or EUR 25 in Iceland. If the certificate is required in English, a consular fee for translation of EUR 6.40 must be paid in addition. The invoice will be sent to an e-mail address to the person, who is requesting the service.

Certificate regarding the driving license from the Vehicles Register
In order to apply for the certificate, the following must be sent to the Embassy by mail (Embassy of Latvia, PO BOX 4027 AMB, 0244 Oslo, Norway):
1. A copy of the passport or the eID card (the copy of the document must bear the words “I, given name, surname, agree that my data will be used in the process of requesting the document” and must be signed);
2. Application form.
Information from the Road Traffic Safety Directorate of Latvia may also be requested by an e-service via www.latvija.lv. You can request an e-service .
This service is subject to a consular fee in amount of EUR 40 and a consular fee for mail delivery of EUR 15 in Norway or EUR 25 in Iceland. The invoice will be sent to an e-mail address to the person, who is requesting the service.
Remote services shall be provided from the moment when all the necessary documents and receipt of the State and Consular fees are received at the Embassy.

To request certificate of birth, marriage or death or a certificate certifying the fact of civil status registration, following documents must be sent to the Embassy by mail (Embassy of Latvia, PO BOX 4027 AMB, 0244 Oslo, Norway):
1.
Application for the receipt of a repeated birth certificate or a statement from the Birth Register.
Application for the receipt of a repeated marriage certificate or certificate from the Marriage Register.
Application for the receipt of a divorce certificate from the Marriage Register.
Application for the receipt of a repeated death certificate or a statement from the Death Register.
The information shall be provided in clear and legible handwriting.
2. A copy of the passport or eID with words “Copy correct” and a signature;
3. Authorization if a birth or marriage certificate is requested on behalf of alive relative;
4. Documents proving kinship or purpose of the request, if a statement is requested regarding another person.
This service is a subject to a State fee in amount of EUR 7 and a consular fee for mail delivery of EUR 15 (Norway) and EUR 25 (Iceland). The invoice will be sent to an e-mail address to the person, who is requesting the service.
Remote services shall be provided from the moment when all the necessary documents and receipt of the State and Consular fees are received at the Embassy.
The marriage certificate shall not be issued if the marriage is divorced or the spouse has died; the birth certificate shall not be issued if the person has died. In such cases a certificate regarding registration of a civil status document shall be required.
