On 15 April 2021, Edgars Rinkēvičs, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, will make a working visit to Kyiv, Ukraine, to express solidarity and reaffirm Latvia’s strong support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Russia’s recent military activity and movements including the build-up of its military forces in the immediate vicinity of the territory of Ukraine pose a significant threat to security in the region; therefore, it is important that Latvia voice its unwavering support for Ukraine under these complicated circumstances, Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs stated in advance of the upcoming visit.
As part of his visit, the Foreign Minister is to meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, and other senior Ukrainian officials.
