Today, 20 July, marks exactly one year since journalist and activist Pavel Sheremet was murdered in Kyiv by a car bomb.
Despite the long time that has passed, this shocking crime has still not been solved and no perpetrators have been brought to justice.
We call upon all competent Ukrainian authorities to continue the investigation into this crime without delay and to examine all available evidence. A thorough, fair and transparent investigation and subsequent trial would strengthen the trust in the Ukrainian justice and law enforcement sectors and would send an important signal that journalists will not be attacked with impunity in Ukraine.
